Today

This morning I woke to a crisp 60-degree temperature outside.  I love this season, the cooler temps and changing leaves, warm soft clothes, and hot drinks! This summer was a long one. It seemed it would never end, but low and behold, here we are and there’s no going back, only on to the next.

Nature speaks to me. From the stand-alone tree in a field to the contrasting transformation of seasons, I see parallels to my own life.  Seasons, seed time and harvest, sunrise and sunset, erosion, decomposition, habitats, all become lessons that help me better understand myself and the world around me.

Nothing just stays the same.  So, it is with our lives. Embracing the day becomes more than a cliché when we remind our self of this truth. As I think about how much I longed for fall this summer I wonder, did I miss something in my waiting? What about my own life? Today’s lesson from this crisp cool fall morning, don’t miss today, waiting for tomorrow.
